A little about me and my company:
Hi, I'm Edwin and I've been in the window film business since 1987. A year after finishing college in 1991, I moved to Ventura County and started solely servicing homes and commercial buildings.
Window tinting was not what I had planned to do after college. I tried "Corporate America", but did not like involving myself in the everyday politics that comes with it. I decided to stay within the window film industry because I enjoyed the physical nature and personal challenges it offered.
The best thing I like about this job is our customers. Knowing they would trust a complete stranger, such as myself, to come into their home and fulfill their needs beyond expectations generates great personal satisfaction. It's a great feeling to have and experience.
The residential tinting market is still considered to be in its infancy. Not too many people realize there are window films designed for homes and there are not too many companies like us that specialize in only residential homes and commercial properties.
Homeowners can be misled by people who don't care about their customer's concerns or needs, wanting to make a quick buck. Unfortunately, I've seen this happen many times in Ventura County over the past 10 years. A few examples are "bait and switch", claims of being a licensed contractor, and giving 25-50% discounts after raising it 25-50% to make it seem homeowners are getting special treatment!
The one thing I feel that makes us stand out is personal service. We don't just measure windows and say "This is the film we have and this is what it's going to cost." I actually like to find out exactly what our customers needs are, search for options, recommend a solution, and answer any concerns they may have. And this process keeps going until the customer feels comfortable with what they are getting.
